The patient sits comfortably in an armchair and receives stimuli for approximately 30 minutes, staying awake and without medications.
There is a noise ("click") associated with the current through the coil, but the effect of magnetic field and the induction of current in the brain are not painful.
Treatment time varies according to pathology (clinical) among the various centers. In cases of more severe depression, are applied 10-20 consecutive sessions (except on weekends), totaling 2-4 weeks of treatment.
On mild to moderate depressive disorder we apply 1-3 sessions per week for 1 month. For cases of insomnia, anxiety disorders, social phobia, panic, the sessions can be weekly or fortnightly.
